Nike Invincible 3 vs Vomero 18: Which One? (2026 Comparison)

Nike Invincible 3 vs Nike Vomero 18

The Nike Invincible 3 and the Nike Vomero 18 are two neutral, highly cushioned training shoes from Nike. They complement each other: the Invincible 3 leans on the plush feel and protection of its ZoomX foam, the Vomero 18 on maximum cushioning and a more balanced profile.

Despite its XXL cushioning (6 mm more at the heel), the Vomero 18 is the lighter shoe, by about 20 g / 0.7 oz.

On drop, 10 mm for the Vomero, 9 mm for the Invincible.

The real difference comes down to the foams. The Invincible 3 relies entirely on ZoomX, Nike’s top foam: the feel is very plush and bouncy, with a wide platform that keeps the stride stable. The Vomero 18 stacks two foams, ZoomX on top and ReactX underneath, for a more balanced feel and an even taller stack of cushioning.

Both target daily training and long runs, with great versatility and comfort. The Vomero 18, the more modern of the two, stands out with softer, more protective and more responsive cushioning thanks to its lighter build.

The mesh uppers are comfortable and breathable on both sides, with good lockdown. These are two shoes built for comfort over the miles rather than for speed.

Invincible 3 or Vomero 18: which should you choose?

There is no wrong choice here. For most runners, the Vomero 18 is our pick: lighter, taller and about $25 cheaper, it delivers maximum cushioning and great versatility for daily training.

Truth be told, the two models are so similar that Nike will most likely not continue the Invincible line (the 3 dates back to 2024 and there is no date for a potential Invincible 4).
