Asics Gel Nimbus 23 vs Asics Gel Kayano 28
These two popular running shoes from the Japanese brand differ primarily in terms of support. The Nimbus 23 is a neutral running shoe, while the Kayano 28 offers advanced support and stabilizes the ride to avoid overpronation.
The weight is similar, but the Nimbus offers a few more millimeters of stack height. The ride is also similar, with not much bounce but smooth transitions nonetheless. Thus, these two models are mainly suitable for daily runs.
Also, it’s good to note that the Kayano 28 (2021) provides softer cushioning than in the past, especially with its next-generation foam, FlyteFoam Blast.
For the rest, both models use the same technologies for cushioning and grip on the road, such as AHAR+ rubber and GEL units.
Nimbus vs. Kayano: which one should you choose?
We recommend the Nimbus, which is more flexible and less bulky unless, of course, you are explicitly looking for a support model for overpronation with maximal stability.Back to the comparison toolBack to the comparison tool
